From 2019 to 2020 deaths involving synthetic opiods increased 56%
Fentanyl:
The goal of this project is to raise awareness and educate individuals about the Fentanyl epidemic while also accessibly distributing the tools necessary to combat it, like Fentanyl test kits and Narcan Nasal Spray.
According to the CDC, Fentanyl is now the number one cause of death for Americans ages 18 to 45. Surpassing suicide, Covid-19, and car accident-related deaths.
Above is the amount of Fentanyl it takes to kill someone.
What is it?
Pharmaceutical fentanyl is a synthetic opioid, approved for treating severe pain, typically advanced cancer pain. It is 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine. It is prescribed in the form of transdermal patches or lozenges and can be diverted for misuse and abuse in the United States.
However, most recent cases of fentanyl-related harm, overdose, and death in the U.S. are linked to illegally made fentanyl. It is sold through illegal drug markets for its heroin-like effect. It is often mixed with heroin and/or cocaine as a combination product—with or without the user’s knowledge—to increase its euphoric effects.
Fentanyl comes in a powder form and can be injected, smoked, or snorted. It also is mixed or sold as other drugs, like cocaine, heroin, meth, and pressed pills.
Practice Harm Reduction:
Fentanyl is now being cut into almost everything and sometimes is even being sold as cocaine, molly, pills, etc. So it is better to test those drugs before you use them. That is why we are trying to make it easier to obtain Fentanyl Test Strips(FTS).
Aside from testing, other Harm Reduction Tactics you and your friends can follow are:
-
Always have a buddy, someone near by, or at a minimum aware of what you are doing.
-
Take it slow, use a very small amount and see how it reacts to your body.
-
Try snorting or smoking instead of injecting, this also allows you to take it slower and see how you react to it.
-
Be cautious, don't do things from people you don't know or that no one has done yet.
-
Carry Naloxone/Narcan - pick some up at walgreens/cvs/walmart/ some websites offer it, we are working to offer it.
-
Rest, take a break after using, get some sleep, and hydrate.
-
Test your supply.
Don't just educate yourself, educate your friends and family too!
Testing For Fentanyl:
Fentanyl test strips can identify the presence of fentanyl in unregulated drugs. They can be used to test injectable drugs, powders, and pills.
Being aware if fentanyl is present allows people to implement appropriate harm reduction strategies to reduce the risk of an overdose.
How to use the test strips?
We recommend grabbing a standard bottle cap from a 20oz plastic water/soda bottle. Fill it up with water(One teaspoon), then mix in the substance you intend to use:
For crystal substances(MDMA/Meth) mix in 10mg, For all other drugs mix in 50mg.

Naloxone(Narcan):
What is it?
Naloxone(Narcan) is a potentially lifesaving medication designed to help reverse the effects of an opioid overdose in minutes. Since most opioid overdoses occur in the home and are most often witnessed, having Naloxone nearby can save a life.
How to use it?
Naloxone can be given in three ways. One way is intramuscular, in which the drug is injected into the muscle. Another way is intranasal, in which the drug is sprayed into the nose. The third is intravenously.
We prefer Narcan Nasal Spray as it is the easiest way for an inexperienced person to administer the drug. You simply lay the person on their back, tilt their head back, and spray the drug into there nose. Then place the person on their side, in the recovery position.

What are we doing?
The goal of this project is to raise awareness and educate individuals about the Fentanyl epidemic while also accessibly distributing the tools necessary to combat it, like Fentanyl test kits and Narcan Nasal Spray.
We are planning on setting up tents and hand these tools out in person ,in high risk areas like festivals, venues, colleges, and low income communities. If you would like to help us on this journey or you would like us to come to an area near you, please contact us and let us know.
